Infographic: Premier League Records Ft. Arsenal’s Invincibles & Angel Di Maria
As we head into the final weekend of the season here’s an infographic that takes a look at some of the all-time records of the Premier League era.
As we head into the final weekend of another fascinating Premier League campaign we thought this infographic would be of interest to our readers as it takes a look at some of the all-time records of the Premier League era including players, managers and clubs.
Newcastle legend Alan Shearer still holds the record for most goals with 260 strikes which included an incredible 11 hat-tricks while James Vaughan is the youngster ever Premier League goalscorer after he netted for Everton in 2005 aged just 16 and 271 days.
Manchester United’s Ryan Giggs clocked up an amazing 632 Premier League appearances which spanned over a 22-year career from 1992 until he eventually retired in 2014 and this is one record that is going to be extremely difficult to beat.
The Red Devils are undoubtedly the most successful team of the PL era as they’ve won 13 titles but Arsenal are the only club to go through an entire season unbeaten after the ‘Invincibles’ achieved the feat in 2003/04.
Unsurprisingly, Sir Alex Ferguson has won the most titles and is also the longest serving manager after 21 years at United while Andre Villas-Boas is the youngster ever manager in PL history after his stint at Chelsea aged just 33 and 249 days.
He may have endured a disappointing debut season at Old Trafford but Angel Di Maria is the most expensive ever signing in English history after United splashed out £59.7m on his signature from Real Madrid last summer.
However, that figure is dwarfed by the record £85.3m Tottenham received from the Spanish giants for Gareth Bale who was brought in as Di Maria’s replacement.
