As the opening of the summer transfer window approaches, managers are working hard identifying targets and lining-up potential deals so we’ll bring you all the news and gossip. Today, Memphis Depay has passed his Manchester United medical….

Dutch attacker Memphis Depay has passed his medical ahead of a €34m move to Manchester United, the club have confirmed this evening.

Following months of speculation over his future, Depay opted for a move to Old Trafford and the Red Devils announced earlier this month that they had agreed a deal with PSV Eindhoven to sign him this summer.

News broke late on Sunday evening that the 21-year-old was heading to England to undergo his medical at Carrington and complete the paperwork ahead of his proposed switch.

The deal has now taken a huge step closer as those formalities have now been completed as United confirmed this evening that Depay has passed his medical and the deal will be wrapped up when the transfer window re-opens at the start of June.

A statement on ManUtd.com read:

Memphis Depay has today completed his medical at Manchester United.

The Club will now work towards finalising his registration when the international transfer window opens in June.

While United haven’t revealed the precise figure they will be paying, BBC journalist David Ornstein claims they will pay €34m (£24.7m) up front with a further €9m (£6.5m) in bonuses, meaning the total deal could end up costing €43m (£31.2m).

Depay has just come off the back of an excellent season with his 28 goals in 40 games helping PSV land the Eredivisie title, so he’s certainly going to bring an added goal threat to United’s front line once he finally completes his move to Old Trafford next month.
