Agent Confirms Petr Cech Wants To Join Arsenal Or Man Utd This Summer

The agent of Petr Cech claims the keeper wants to join Arsenal or Man Utd this summer and he expects Roman Abramovich to allow him to move to any club he wants.

As the opening of the summer transfer window approaches, managers are working hard identifying targets and lining-up potential deals so we’ll bring you all the news and gossip. Today, Petr Cech is keen on joining Arsenal or Man Utd….

The agent of Petr Cech has confirmed the Chelsea goalkeeper would like to join Arsenal or Manchester United this summer and he expects Roman Abramovich to allow him to move to any club he wants.

Cech is expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer after 11 trophy-filled years having lost his first team place to Belgian youngster Thibaut Courtois this season.

Jose Mourinho has tried his best to keep the 32-year-old happy by playing him in the domestic cup competitions but with just six Premier League appearances to his name, Cech has confirmed he’s not prepared to spend another campaign playing second-fiddle to Courtois.

Cech’s agent, Viktor Kolar, was quoted as telling reporters last week that’s he’s been given permission by the newly-crowned Premier League champions to hold talks with interested parties.

“Petr has a valid contract with his current club, however, I can confirm that we have been ‘permitted’ by Chelsea to negotiate with interested parties and Petr has confirmed his interest to play regularly at a top club.”

The uncertainty over his future has lead to speculation over a potential move to Arsenal or Manchester United, while French champions Paris Saint-Germain are also understood to be in the running.

The trio have now received a major boost as Kolar has now been quoted by ESPN as telling a Czech journalist that the 32-year-old keeper would ‘definitely’ be interested in joining Arsenal, United or even PSG this summer.

Kolar also claimed that Cech expects Roman Abramovich and not Jose Mourinho to decide his future, and he expects the Chelsea owner to uphold an agreement from last summer which will reportedly allow the experienced keeper to choose his next club as a thank you for his loyal service.

Kolar is quoted as saying:

“Arsenal, United or PSG are all top clubs. And Petr would like to join one of them – definitely.”

“Petr expects that Abramovič not Mourinho will decide about his future, based on their mutual agreement from last year.”

Mourinho has publicly said that while his preference would be for Cech to either stay at Chelsea or be sold abroad, it’s not his decision so it does appear that Abramovich will have the final say which should give the player free choice over his next move. If that’s the case, then a move to Arsenal or United is firmly on the cards.

Arsene Wenger is expected to be on the look-out for a new keeper to replace Wojciech Szczesny after the Pole was axed from the first team in January while Louis van Gaal is also drawing up a short-list of targets in-case David De Gea pushes for a move to Real Madrid, and Cech would be an excellent signing for either club.

He’s vastly experienced in the Premier League and has won several major honours including 4 league titles and the Champions League. He may be the wrong side of 30, but as a goalkeeper he’s still got plenty of years left at the top level, so whoever does end up winning the race for his signature will have pulled off a major coup.
