[Player Ratings] Arsenal 4-1 West Brom: Walcott Shines For Gunners

By on May 24, 2015

Arsenal warmed up for the FA Cup final in perfect style with a comfortable 4-1 win over West Brom at the Emirates this afternoon.

Theo Walcott scored an impressive hat-trick while Jack Wilshere also got in on the act with a stunning effort as we dominates the first half. West Brom pulled one back after the break but we cruised the a 4-1 win to ensure we finished third in the table.

Here are my ratings:

Ospina  5/10 | At fault for the West Brom goal as he failed to get near the corner. Also lucky not to concede another after some terrible keeping saw him deflect a shot onto the bar.

Bellerin  6.5/10 | Not tested defensively but got forward on plenty of occasions. His crossing could have been better at times.

Gabriel  7/10 | In for Koscielny and put in a solid shift at the back. Even picked up an assist.

Mertesacker  7/10 | A comfortable game from the big German. A real pro.

Gibbs  6.5/10 | Looks like he might have picked up a shoulder injury. Monreal is likely to start in the cup final anyway.

Coquelin  7/10 | Another solid shift from the emerging Coquelin. Held things firm in front of the defence.

Cazorla  7.5/10 | Back to something like his best form and he was heavily involved in our positive play. Picked up two assists.

Wilshere 8.5 /10 | Excellent display. Ran the show in the first half and got on the score-sheet with a stunning half-volley.

Ozil  7.5/10 | Was central to much of our attacking play in the first half but was a little less involved after the break.

Alexis  7/10 | Worked hard but was overshadowed by those around him.

Walcott  9/10 | Outstanding. Took his opportunity to play up front with both hands as he bagged a superb hat-trick.

Subs:

Ramsey 7/10 | Unlucky not to score at least once as he hit the post twice after coming on.

Giroud 6/10 |  Couldn’t get himself involved in the game.

Oxlade-Chamberlain 5/10 | Great to see him back.
