[Video Highlights] Hull 0-0 Man Utd: Fellaini Sees Red As Tigers Go Down

By on May 24, 2015

Marouane Fellaini was sent off in the second half as Hull City were relegated to the Championship following a 0-0 draw with Manchester United this afternoon.

The hosts knew they needed a win to stand any chance of beating the drop and they started brightly at the KC Stadium. Shortly after Wayne Rooney saw an effort tipped over the bar, Victor Valdes got down well to keep Hull at bay.

Valdes made another excellent stop to deny the hosts in the 77th minute before Fellaini was dismissed for a late challenge on Chester which saw the defender require lengthy treatment after he cut his head open.

The hosts continued to push for a winner but it wasn’t to be and the game ended 0-0. It turned out that even a win wouldn’t have been enough for the Tigers as Newcastle beat West Ham 2-0 at St James’ Park, so Steve Bruce’s men finished 18th and will now play in the Championship next season.
