Arsenal & Man Utd Offered 31-Goal Hitman For Just £21m As Agent Confirms Offers

Arsenal and Man Utd have been told they will have to pay just £21m to sign Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette this summer as the players agent confirms offers

As the summer transfer window gets set to open for business, managers are working hard identifying targets and lining-up potential deals so we’ll bring you all the news and gossip. Today, more on the future of Alexandre Lacazette….

Arsenal and Manchester United have been told they will have to pay just £21m to sign Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette this summer as the players agent confirms offers from abroad, according to the Express.

Lacazette has been on Lyon’s books his entire professional career after joining the club as a child and has emerged through the youth ranks to become one of most prolific strikers in Europe having scored 31 goals last season.

The 24-year-old’s sensational form in front of goal has seen him linked with a move to the Premier League and the Express claim that Arsenal and Manchester United are both keen on luring the player to England this summer.

Lyon are notoriously tricky customers to negotiate with so they were expected to demand a sizeable fee for Lacazette’s signature. However, the Express claim that the Ligue 1 outfit have told interested parties they are willing to do business for just £21m.

The news comes as the Daily Star claim that the French striker is demanding a new deal worth £4.5m-a-year to remain in France so perhaps Lyon are ready to cash-in rather than hand him the bumper pay-rise he wants.

If that’s the case and the French club are willing to sell for £21m, I’d expect the likes of Arsenal and United to show a keen interest as that sort of money for a player of Lacazette’s quality and potential is a relative steal in today’s over-inflated market.

The English giants may already have made their interest known as Lacazette’s agent, David Venditelli, has confirmed they’ve received ‘significant’ offers from foreign clubs and insists they won’t change the demands they’ve made to Lyon.

“The offers we’ve had from abroad are very significant in terms of finances.

“Ultimatums and media pressure won’t change our demands, which OL are aware of.” Venditelli is quoted as saying by the Daily Star

Many feel Arsenal are a top class striker away from being genuine title challengers while United need to bring in a new front-man to replace Radamel Falcao, and Lacazette would be an excellent signing for either club.

However, we’ll have to see how things develop over the coming weeks but I think Lacazette would be a huge hit in the Premier League if he was to come to these shores this summer.
