No he is not right he is deluded a Keeper is a massive must and an english centre half is essential now as the latest two have the defending know how of an under ten footballer!

How can you be blinded by Fabianski’s recent run of OK-ish performances?? Remember, this is The Arsenal! Your attitude is one of those who is content with fourth place finishes and mediocrity in a poor league where the law of averages says we will comfortably beat your West Ham’s and Villa’s of this world to maintain the status quo. This league is there for the taking and the signing of Given (atleast til the summer when Szczesny is ready to take his rightful place) allied with a solid def midfielder, could be what sees us over the finishing line and imagine how a (Carling) Cup victory would galvanise the squad in Feb!

I have mixed feelings. Our Mid and Attack is okay, no immediate attention is required there, but our defense has been our chink in the armour this season. The irony is that, it is attributable to the 2 players who were brought in to strengthen it this summer itself. So I don’t anticipate any spending here.
Hell, I would have preferred a Cech-esque No.1, but Fabianski has been nothing short of amazing, so it is fine for now.
I think the only team wanting to spend in the winter would be Chelsea. 3 players get injured, they drop 11 points. And they talk about us relying on a few players 😛

fabianski has shown what a great shot stopper he is but he hasnt demonstrated any dominance on crosses. A big opposition player in the box with a high ball lobbed in gives me the jitters.
The centre back position is still vacant as well….vermaelen is fine but which one alongside him?
none are the quality required for winning the main trophies.
Too stubborn too much ego …wont change.
