[Video Goals] Man Utd 3-1 San Jose: Depay & Mata On Target For Reds

Manchester United continued their pre-season preparations with a 3-1 victory over San Jose Earthquakes in the United States last night with Memphis Depay among the scorers.

Louis van Gaal lined-up with a strong side and United opened the scoring in the 31st minute when Juan Mata’s left-footed shot found it’s way into the bottom corner for 1-0.

Big-money summer signing Depay then opened his account for the Red Devils as he pounced on a poor back-pass before cooly slotting home for 2-0 in the 35th minute.

San Jose pulled one back just before half-time when Fatai Alashe turned home from inside the box as United held a one-goal advantage at the break.

van Gaal changed his entire team for the second half and it was two of his youngsters who combined to seal the win as Andreas Pereira headed home Jesse Lingard’s cross for 3-1.

It means United have won both their games so far on their pre-season tour but can expect a much tougher test when they take on Barcelona on Saturday afternoon.
