Manchester United continued their 100% record in pre-season after an impressive 3-1 victory over Barcelona at the Levi’s Stadium last night.
After Luis Suarez came close to putting the European champions ahead, Wayne Rooney broke the deadlock with a neat header from Ashley Young’s 7th minute corner.
Both sides had good chances to add to the scoreline in the first half but it was United who found the next goal as Jesse Lingard slotted home from a Tyler Blackett cut back for 2-0 in the 65th minute.
Barcelona pulled one back in the 89th minute when Sergi Roberto crashed home a lovely volley from the edge of the area but Adnan Januzaj restored United’s two-goal advantage just 2 minutes later as he he well to cut inside and slot home for 3-1.
The victory means United have now won all three of the pre-season games so far and will go into their final game against Paris Saint-Germain next week in good confidence.
