Arsenal Eye Audacious Move For Key Barcelona Midfielder

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger wants to sign a new defensive midfielder and is eyeing an audacious move for Barcelona star Sergio Busquets this summer

With the summer transfer window in full swing, managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads ahead of next season so we’ll bring you all the news and gossip. Today, Arsenal are linked with Sergio Busquets….

Sergio Busquets Barcelona

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger wants to sign a new defensive midfielder and is eyeing an audacious move for Barcelona star Sergio Busquets this summer, according to Spanish outlet Sport.

The boss has been strongly tipped to bring in another central midfielder all summer but we’ve so far seen reported targets Morgan Schneiderlin, Geoffrey Kondogbia and Arturo Vidal join other clubs.

Understandably this has left Arsenal fans a little frustrated at the inactivity but Wenger says he’s prepared to wait for the right player to become available and it looks like he has his eye on a certain Barcelona midfielder.

Spanish outlet Sport are reporting today that the boss has set his sights on Sergio Busquets and has apparently told the clubs directors that he wants to try and lure the 27-year-old away from the Nou Camp this summer.

Despite the emergence of Francis Coquelin last season, the report claims that Wenger wants a new defensive midfielder and feels Busquets is the ideal man for the job as he’ll bring the perfect balance between defence and attack in the middle of the park.

Obviously Busquets would be a dream signing for any club as he’s a world class holding midfielder who’s won practically everything there is to win in football including the World Cup, a European Cup, 3 Champions Leagues and 5 La Liga titles.

Busquets would be the ideal player to play alongside the likes of Santi Cazorla, Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey in our midfield so clearly we’d all love to see him come to Arsenal.

However, I think it’s going to be practically impossible to sign the Spaniard this summer as he’s been at Barcelona his entire professional career and is a key part of Luis Enrique’s starting eleven.

He recently signed a new deal that ties him to the Nou Camp until 2019 and the player has shown no sign of discontent in Spain, so as hard as we may try to prise him away, I really don’t think there’s any chance we’ll be able to pull this one off.
