Chelsea finished off their pre-season tour with a 4-2 shootout victory over Barcelona after the game had ended 2-2 in normal time in Washington DC last night.

The Blues started well and took the lead early on when Eden Hazard scored a stunning solo effort in the 10th minute and that was to be the only goal of an entertaining first half.

Barcelona came out firing after the break and levelled things up through Luis Suarez in the 52nd minute when the Uruguayan did well to find space before beating Thibaut Courtois with a delicate chipped finish for 1-1.

The European champions then took the lead 15 minutes later when Sandro curled home a stunning effort from the edge of the area but Chelsea rescued the draw in the 85th minute when Gary Cahill beat goalkeeper Jordi Masip to the ball to head home for 2-2.

It went to a shootout and it was the Premier League champions who emerged victorious as Falcao, Moses, Ramires and Remy all converted with Halilovic and Pique missing for Barca.

It finished off whats been an impressive pre-season tour and Chelsea now head back to London ahead of Sunday’s Community Shield against Arsenal.
