[Video Goals] Liverpool 0-3 West Ham: Hammers Thrash Sorry Reds

By on August 29, 2015

Liverpool were thrashed 3-0 by West Ham as both sides ended the game with 10-men at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors took a shock lead in the 3rd minute when Manuel Lanzini was on hand to tap home from close range at the far post to end Liverpool’s clean-sheet record this season.

The hosts almost levelled things up immediately when Roberto Firminio’s long-range strike came back off the post and West Ham made them pay as Mark Noble slotted home the second just before the half-hour mark following some calamitous defending from Dejan Lovren.

The Reds’ chances of getting back into the game were dealt a blow when Philippe Coutinho was shown a straight red card for a sliding challenge on Payet before the visitors were also reduced to 10-men when Noble was controversially dismissed in the 78th minute.

More suspect defending by Liverpool allowed Sakho to dance into the area and fire home a late third to secure the Hammers first victory at Anfield in 50 years.
