Chelsea have received a double injury blow after Jose Mourinho revealed that Willian and Pedro will definitely miss Saturday’s Premier League clash with Arsenal.

Summer signing Pedro didn’t feature during the West Londoners 4-0 thrashing of Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Champions League last night due to a thigh injury.

It had been hoped that the Spanish international would recover in time to face the Gunners this weekend but Mourinho has confirmed the 28-year-old is now set to miss out once again.

In what is a double blow for Chelsea, the Blues boss also revealed that Willian will also definitely miss the Arsenal clash on Saturday after suffering a hamstring injury last night.

Willian had opened the scoring for the hosts with a long-range free-kick in the 15th minute before being forced off shortly after with a hamstring problem.

Speaking after the game last, Mourinho told Chelseafc.com:

Tomorrow I will watch Arsenal, and I will try to understand how my players are – how Oscar is, Willian is out for sure, I think Pedro is out for sure – so let’s see.

The loss of Pedro and Willian leaves Chelsea with limited options in attack for what is going to be a vital fixture in their Premier League title defence.

Mourinho’s men have endured a disastrous start to the new season having taken just four points from their opening five games and already trail leaders Manchester City by 11 points so they can’t afford another slip-up this weekend.
