Arsenal have been hit by a fresh injury blow with boss Arsene Wenger confirming that Hector Bellerin has been ruled out of tomorrow night’s clash with Bayern Munich.

Wenger has been speaking at his pre-game press conference this evening ahead of our crucial Champions League showdown with the German champions when he gave a team news update.

Unfortunately the boss revealed that Bellerin is out of the game and has not travelled with the rest of the squad to Munich after picking up a groin injury – although the good news is he’s described the injury as ‘a small problem’.

It’s not clear when the injury was sustained but Bellerin could have caused the issue when he made a last ditch clearance off the line against Swansea on Saturday before clattering into the post.

Either way, Hector will play no part in tomorrow night’s game so Mathieu Debuchy will now come in to the team and start at right back where he’ll most likely be up against Douglas Costa, who was outstanding in the reverse fixture two weeks ago.

So our injury list continues to grow with Bellerin now the ninth first team player to be on the sidelines – Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mikel Arteta, David Ospina, Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey, Danny Welbeck and Tomas Rosicky the names who’re also on the treatment table.

In the absence of Bellerin, young attacker Jeff Reine-Adelaide has been added to the squad for the Bayern clash but I expect the best he can hope for is a place on the bench.
