Liverpool are one of England’s most successful clubs and have won countless trophies throughout their illustrious, long-standing history. The Reds have won five European Cups, 18 English league titles and seven FA Cup crowns but are targeting more silverware under new manager Jurgen Klopp.

During Brendan Rodgers’ tenure at the club, Liverpool failed to win any major silverware and the former Borussia Dortmund manager will be desperate to make an immediate impression at Anfield.

The Reds have improved since Klopp arrived at Anfield but they still have the capacity to collapse under pressure. In their most recent Premier League fixture, Liverpool slipped to a 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace in front of their home fans – much to the disappointment of the Anfield faithful.

While Klopp was disappointed with his team’s performance on the field, he also raised his opinion on those Liverpool supporters who left early after Palace’s second goal went in. The former Dortmund boss always received plenty of support in Germany and that constant backing led to success at Westfalenstadion.

Having said that, there is an excellent budding relationship between the fans and Klopp. Supporters are excited at Liverpool’s chances of success under the German and his experience and unique, attacking style of play both appealed to the Anfield crowd.

Klopp will continue to annoy certain fans throughout the campaign but has the talent and tactical nous to lead Liverpool to silverware this season. When he arrived, supporters and bloggers were left asking ‘can Liverpool surprise and win the Premier League this year?’ Those at Football Scores believe that, whilst the Reds won’t win the title this season, they could win the crown in the coming years. Furthermore, Liverpool also stand an excellent chance in the Capital One Cup this year. The likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United have been eliminated from the competition and the Reds have already booked their place in the quarter-finals. If they can get past Southampton in the next round, they will be in the last four and from there, who knows.

If Liverpool get lucky with the FA Cup draw, they stand a great chance of winning England’s oldest club competition this season. Klopp will be keen to take the FA Cup seriously and, after reaching the semi-finals of both domestic cup competitions last season, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see the Reds go all the way to Wembley in 2016.
