Manchester United will look to secure qualification to the knockout stages of the Champions League when they take on PSV Eindhoven at Old Trafford tomorrow night.

Ahead of the game, Louis van Gaal has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and has given ManUtd.com a team news and injury update.

The Dutch boss was pleased to confirm a huge triple boost with the news that Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and Marouane Fellaini are all back in contention for the game.

Rooney missed Saturday’s 2-1 win at Watford due to illness while Martial also failed to make the trip to Vicarage Road after suffering a foot injury while away with the France squad during the international break.

Fellaini has been on the sidelines in recent weeks due to a niggling calf injury but the Belgian international joined Rooney and Martial in full training today putting them all in contention to take on PSV tomorrow night.

However, it wasn’t all positive news for United as van Gaal also revealed that Phil Jones and Ander Herrera will miss the game after picking up injuries during the win over Watford at the weekend.

van Gaal told the clubs website:

“I’m very happy to tell you that [they can return], more or less, because you never know as they haven’t trained so much this week and also before this week, Rooney is recovered and Martial can play,”

“Fellaini can play. So that’s great news, I think.”

“Jones and Herrera cannot play. It’s too soon because they also need recovery time. So I have five injured players.”

Losing Jones and Herrera will be a blow for United and the duo join long-term injury victims Luke Shaw, Michael Carrick and Antonio Valencia on the sidelines.

However, it will be a real boost to have Rooney and Martial available again as United look for the win they need to secure safe passage to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
