Arsenal have been handed a huge double injury boost with Alexis Sanchez set for a swift return to action while Theo Walcott is also ready to make his first team comeback, according to the Mirror.

Sanchez limped off during our 1-1 draw at Norwich City on Sunday after suffering a hamstring injury during the second half and there were fears he was facing up to six weeks on the sidelines.

However, it seems we’ve had some excellent news as the Mirror claim that following further scans on Tuesday, the clubs medical team are now confident the injury is not as bad as first feared.

Sanchez is still going to miss our upcoming games against Sunderland and Olympiakos but the newspaper says the Chilean international should be fit to face Manchester City on December 21.

In what is a major double injury boost, the Mirror also claim that Theo Walcott is ready to make his long-awaited first team comeback.

Theo has been on the sidelines since suffering a calf injury during our 3-0 Capital One Cup defeat at Sheffield Wednesday back in late October.

However, the paper says he could be among the substitutes for Saturday’s clash with Sunderland and is certain to be in the squad for our crucial Champions League showdown at Olympiakos next week.

If this report is accurate then it will come as a welcome double boost to Arsene Wenger as injuries have threatened to derail our title challenge in recent weeks.

Hopefully we can get by without Sanchez over the next 2-3 weeks and maintain our title challenge before his return later on this month.
