Arsenal have been handed yet another devastating injury blow with Santi Cazorla facing at least three months out with knee ligament damage, according to the Guardian.

Cazorla picked up a knee problem in the early stages of the second half during our 1-1 draw with Norwich on Sunday afternoon but was still allowed to complete the entire ninety minutes.

Arsene Wenger admitted after the game that the injury had gotten progressively worse as the game wore on but he was unable to replace the Spaniard as he’d already used all three of this permitted substitutes.

Initial reports suggested that the injury wasn’t a serious one but those reports appear to have been wide of the mark as the Guardian are now claiming that Cazorla is facing at least three months on the sidelines after ligament damage was confirmed.

It means the midfielder will be out until at least March, however, the newspaper says that there is a fear within the club that Cazorla could actually be out for even longer meaning his entire season is in jeopardy.

Obviously this will come as a huge blow as Cazorla has been one of our most consistent performers and is key to Arsene Wenger’s line-up with the diminutive Spaniard playing more minutes that any other Arsenal midfielder this season.

The news comes just days after Francis Coquelin was also ruled out for around three months with a knee injury so our first choice midfield pairing are both out for the foreseeable future.

Aaron Ramsey is back and Theo Walcott is set to follow him over the coming week, but we’re still without Mikel Arteta, Francis Coquelin, Tomas Rosicky, Danny Welbeck and Jack Wilshere to long-term injuries, while Alexis Sanchez is facing three weeks out with a hamstring injury, so Wenger is facing another injury crisis as we head into the festive period.
