Arsenal Star Wins PFA Player of the Month Ahead Of Man Utd Defender

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has beaten off competition from Manchester United defender Chris Smalling and Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy to be named the PFA Player of the Month for November.
The trio were shortlisted for the award earlier this month and many felt Vardy could be the front-runner after he continued his sensational form by breaking Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Premier League goal scoring record having netted in 11 consecutive games.
England international centre-back Smalling also enjoyed a strong month as he marshalled a rock solid United defence to three clean sheets throughout the month of November.
However, the Professional Footballers’ Association announced this morning that Ozil has scooped the prize ahead of the United and Leicester duo.
The German international has been having a superb season so far and continued his excellent form by taking his assist tally to an incredible 12 for the season, while he also scored during Arsenal’s 1-1 draw at Norwich City.
Ozil’s contributions have guided Arsenal up to second in the Premier League table and just two points off top spot so Arsene Wenger will be desperate for his playmaker to stay fit and maintain their title challenge.
