[Video Goals] Wolfsburg 3-2 Man Utd: United Crash Out After Losing 5-Goal Thriller

Manchester United crashed out of the Champions League after a dramatic 3-2 defeat to Wolfsburg this evening.

Things looked to be going smoothly for United when Juan Mata played in Anthony Martial and the Frenchman stayed composed to slot home for 0-1 in the 10th minute.

The lead didn’t last long as Wolsfburg levelled things up just three minutes later when Naldo volleyed home past David De Gea for 1-1.

The hosts then took the lead midway through the first half when Vieirnha finished off a superb team move to make it 2-1 at half-time leaving United with it all to do to qualify.

It looked like Louis van Gaal’s men had given themselves every chance of making it through to the last 16 when Guilavogui put through his own net for 2-2 in the 82nd minute.

However, Wolfsburg when straight up the other end to retake the lead when Naldo ghosted in to head home to secure a 3-2 win in the 84th minute.

The loss, combined with PSV Eindhoven’s 2-1 victory over CSKA Moscow, sees United drop to third in Group B and they’ll now play in the Europa League.
