[Video Goals] Olympiacos 0-3 Arsenal: Gunners Through Thanks To Giroud Hat-Trick

By on December 9, 2015

Arsenal  booked their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League thanks to a stunning 3-0 victory over Olympiacos in Greece tonight.

We started slowly but eventually found our groove and opened the scoring in the 29th minute when Olivier Giroud’s header found the back of the net thanks to some poor goalkeeping.

We put one foot in the knockout stages when Giroud doubled our advantage shortly after half time with his first time finish making it 2-0 after he was teed-up by a superb pass from Joel Campbell.

Qualification was then secured when Nacho Monreal’s cross was handled in the area and Giroud stepped up to convert the resulting spot kick to not only complete his first hat-trick for the club, but also seal our place in the last 16 of the Champions League.

The 3-0 win means we move level on points with Olympiacos but qualify in second spot thanks to our better head-to-head record.
