[Video Goals] Bournemouth 2-1 Man Utd: Pressure Mounts On LvG As Cherries Stun Utd

By on December 12, 2015

Manchester United’s poor form continued as they slumped to a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Bournemouth on Saturday night to pile the pressure on boss Louis van Gaal.

Fresh from their stunning victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last week, the hosts got off to the perfect start after taking the lead in just the second minute when Junior Stanislas curled the ball into the net directly from a corner.

United drew level midway through the first half when Marouane Fellaini was on hand to poke home after Memphis Depay had seen his initial effort saved by Artur Boruc and the two sides went in level at the break.

However, Bournemouth retook the lead shortly after half-time when Joshua King fired home from the middle of the box following a Matt Ritchie corner in the 54th minute.

The Cherries squandered a golden chance to wrap the game up when Glenn Murray blazed over from close range with just David De Gea to beat but it didn’t matter as they held on to register a famous victory over United.
