[Video Goals] Tottenham 1-2 Newcastle: Perez Strikes Late On As Geordies Stun Spurs
Newcastle United came from behind to beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at White Hart Lane this afternoon.
The hosts opened the scoring shortly before half time when Eric Dier was on hand to head home a Christian Eriksen corner despite the best efforts of Elliot and Wijnaldum to clear the ball off the line.
Newcastle levelled things up in the 74th minute when Alexandre Mitrovic was on hand to poke home from close range after Hugo Lloris had saved Mbemba’s initial effort on the goal line.
The Geordies then stunned White Hart Lane as substitute Perez volleyed past Lloris deep in to injury time to secure a 2-1 win which sees Steve McClaren’s men move out of the bottom three.
Tottenham meanwhile miss the chance to climb into the top four with Mauricio Pochettino’s men remain fifth and three points behind Manchester United.
