[Video Goals] Watford 3-0 Liverpool: Bogdan Howler Leads To Reds Thumping

Liverpool’s top four hopes were dealt a blow as they slumped to a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts got off to a dream start after opening the scoring in just the 2nd minute and it was all thanks to a howler from Liverpool goalkeeper Adam Bodgan, with the 28-year-old -was standing in for injured No.1 Simon Mignolet – dropping a routine corner to allow Nathan Ake to poke home into the empty net.

It got worse for the Merseysiders just 12 minutes later when in-form striker Odion Ighalo out-muscled Martin Skrtel before firing into the far corner for 2-0 in the 15th minute.

Liverpool failed to get themselves back in the game and any hopes of a late comeback were ended when Ighalo headed home for 3-0 in the 85th minute following a lovely move from Watford.

The defeat leaves Liverpool sitting down in ninth place in the Premier League table and five points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
