[Video Goals] Arsenal 2-1 Man City: Gunners Hang On To Secure Vital Win

By on December 21, 2015

Arsenal moved to within two points of leaders Leicester City with a 2-1 victory over Manchester City at the Emirates on Monday night.

After a sluggish start, the home side opened the scoring in the 33rd minute and it was a goal worth waiting for as Theo Walcott fired home a superb effort from the edge of the area after being found by Mesut Ozil.

The German international then grabbed his second assist of the game as Arsenal took control just before half-time when Olivier Giroud smashed through the legs of Joe Hart in the 46th minute.

City made it 2-1 in spectacular fashion when Yaya Toure found the top corner with the most nonchalant of finishes in the 82nd minute. However, the Gunners held on to secure a vital win that sees them move five points clear of City in second and to within two points of leaders Leicester.
