Chelsea will look to build some momentum and climb up the Premier League table when they take on Watford at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day.

Ahead of the game, interim boss Guus Hiddink has been speaking to the media for the first time today since replacing Jose Mourinho as manager.

The Dutchman was pleased to reveal a major injury boost with the news that Eden Hazard took part in light training today as he steps-up his recovery from a hip injury.

Hazard missed the 3-1 win over Sunderland on Saturday after being forced off with a hip problem during the 2-1 defeat at Leicester City – which proved to be Mourinho’s last game in charge.

However, the Belgian international is now on the comeback trail after resuming training today, and while Hiddink says it’s too early to say whether the attacker will be available to face Watford on Saturday, he’s hoping Hazard will soon regain his best form after a disappointing campaign so far.

The Blues boss is quoted as saying by the Express:

“He [Hazard] had a terrific season last year,”

“I think he can be a key player, as captain of the national team in Belgium, but also here.

“He was unlucky to be injured recently, but today he practised.

“Tomorrow we (will) see again. We look to get back the form.”

It would be a major boost for Chelsea if Hazard was back to face Watford as although he’s yet to show his best form this season, he’s still one of the West Londoners main threats and is world class when he’s on top form.

Hazard could be joined in the squad this weekend by Radamel Falcao after the Colombian striker continued his recovery from a muscle injury with another training session today, but Deigo Costa is still expected to lead the line up front.
