Manchester United will look to put a turbulent week behind them and get back to winning ways when they take on Stoke City at the Britannia this afternoon.

Louis van Gaal has decided to drop Wayne Rooney for today’s match with the skipper named among the substitutes as Ander Herrera returns to the starting eleven.

Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini keep their places in midfield while Memphis Depay and Juan Mata will support Anthony Martial in attack.

Ashley Young keeps his place at right-back in the absence of the injured Matteo Darmian while Phil Jones continues alongside Chris Smalling at the back.
