Arsenal will begin the defence of the FA Cup when they take on Sunderland at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon. Here is the side Gooner Mac thinks Arsene Wenger will select for the game:

Goalkeeper: The boss is expected to give Petr Cech a well earned rest with David Ospina set to start in goal despite the Colombian being linked with a move away from the club this winter.

Defence: We should see plenty of changes at the back too with Gabriel almost certain to come back in. Laurent Koscielny is the man most likely to be rested so Per Mertesacker could keep his place at the heart of defence.

Mathieu Debuchy is likely to head out on loan this month so this could be his final game before he secures a move away while Kieran Gibbs should come in for Nacho Monreal at left-back.

Midfield: Calum Chambers put in a solid showing in midfield against Bournemouth last week so the youngster could be given another chance to impress on Saturday with Mathieu Flamini given a breather.

Mikel Arteta has been passed fit for selection after playing for the under-21’s earlier this week and with Francis Coquelin, Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla all out injured, the Spaniard could start against Sunderland – although I’m not sure he’ll be able to complete the full ninety minutes just yet.

Attack: We don’t have too many options in the final third but I hope we see Mesut Ozil given a breather while Olivier Giroud is another who could do with a rest. This could see a front four of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Joel Campbell, Aaron Ramsey and Theo Walcott.

Here is how I think we’ll see Arsenal line-up:

What do you think? What line-up would you like to see start?

You can’t play Debuchy and Metersacker together due to lack of pace. Bellerin for me instead of Debuchy and Flamini for Arteta.. Giroud has to play against an Allaydice side.
