By on January 10, 2016

Chelsea booked their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Scunthorpe United at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.

The Blues got off to the perfect start when Diego Costa got the final touch to a Branislav Ivanovic cross to open the scoring in the 13th minute and settle any early nerves.

Guus Hiddink’s men controlled the game but had to wait until midway through the second half to secure safe passage to the next round when Ruben Loftus-Cheek came off the bench to cooly slot home for 2-0 in the 68th minute.

Scunthorpe couldn’t find a way back into the game so Chelsea eased to a 2-0 victory to book their place in the hat for the fourth round draw.
