Chelsea vs West Brom Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Predicted Score
Chelsea take on West Brom at Stamford Bridge this evening. Here’s a preview with team news, likely line-up, betting tips and predicted score.
Chelsea will look to extend their unbeaten run to six games when they entertain West Brom at Stamford Bridge this evening.
The Blues head into the game off the back of a comfortable 2-0 victory over Scunthorpe United in the third round of the FA Cup which came following an impressive 3-0 league win at Crystal Palace earlier this month.
Guus Hiddink has certainly steadied the ship since arriving as interim boss but he’s still got a huge task on his hands if Chelsea are to qualify for the Champions League next season as the Blues currently sit 14th in the table and 13 points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham.
Therefore, Chelsea will be desperate to pick up all three points tonight but that isn’t going to be easy as they’ll face a West Brom side that are unbeaten in three games and have won the last two following wins over Newcastle and Stoke.
Chelsea will have to make do without Eden Hazard once again as the Belgian international has failed to recover in time following a minor groin injury.
However, Diego Costa has been passed fit after making a swift recovery from a knee problem which forced him off against Scunthorpe at the weekend.
Loic Remy is also back in contention after finally overcoming a calf injury but Radamel Falcao remains on the sidelines with a thigh problem.
West Brom will be without Jonas Olsson as the centre-back is struggling with a hamstring injury while striker Victor Anichebe is also likely to miss the trip to the capital with his own hamstring complain.
Ben Foster is back in contention after making his long-awaited comeback in Saturday’s FA Cup draw with Bristol City – although Tony Pulis may stick by Boaz Myhill in goal.
Chelsea 2-0 West Brom: The Blues are getting back to something like their best form after a disastrous first half to the season and while West Brom will no doubt put up a decent fight, I can’t see past anything other than a home win here.
Chelsea are the 4/6 favourites to win the game but Football-Talk can get you enhanced odds of 4/1 on a Chelsea win – just click here to take advantage. My prediction of 2-0 is on offer at 15/2 and I also like the look of Pedro opening the scoring at odds of 11/2. If you combined those two bets in a score-cast then we get very tempting odds of 25/1.
