By on January 13, 2016

Joe Allen came off the bench to score an injury-time equaliser as Liverpool drew 3-3 with Arsenal in a thriller at Anfield on Wednesday night.

Liverpool made a fantastic start and got their rewards when Roberto Firmino fired home after Petr Cech could only parry a powerful Emre Can effort.

Arsenal hit-back within minutes as Aaron Ramsey beat Simon Mignolet at his near post following a stunning pass from Joel Campbell in the 14th minute.

The hosts re-took the lead just five minutes later when Firmino found the top corner with a stunning strike from the edge of the area but Arsenal ensured it was 2-2 at the break when Olivier Giroud poked home from a Mesut Ozil corner.

The Gunners then took the lead for the first time in the game when Grioud finished superbly following some great work from Hector Bellerin and Campbell in the 55th minute.

However, Liverpool refused to lay down and Allen came off the bench to rescue a point as he turned home a loose ball to make it 3-3 in injury time.
