[Video Goals] Arsenal 2-1 Leicester: Welbeck Scores Late On To Sink 10-Man Foxes

Arsenal blew the title race wide open after Danny Welbeck came off the bench to secure a stunning 2-1 victory over leaders Leicester City at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

The visitors opened the scoring in controversial fashion just before half time when Jamie Vardy went down in the box after tangling with Nacho Monreal. There was some debate over whether it should have been a spot kick while Arsenal rightly felt they should have had a free-kick up the other end before Leicester broke.

Either way, Vardy dusted himself off and slammed home the penalty to make it 0-1 at the break and leave us with it all to do after the break.

The games defining moment came in 54th minute when Danny Simpson was dismissed for a second yellow card and Theo Walcott came off the bench to fire home a deserved equaliser in the 70th minute.

We wasted a number of decent chances to grab a second but just when it looked as though we’d missed a golden chance to close the gap at the top, substitute Danny Welbeck headed home a dramatic winner in the 94th minute to secure a vital 2-1 win.

The victory sees us climb back up to second in the table and to within two points of Leicester with 12 games remaining.
