[Video Goals] PSG 2-1 Chelsea: Cavani Strike Sinks Blues

By on February 16, 2016

Chelsea will have to turn things around on home soil after going down 2-1 to Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Tuesday night.

The Ligue 1 one side opened the scoring just before the break as Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s free-kick deflected off the Chelsea wall and past Thibaut Courtois to make it 1-0 in the 39th minute.

The Blues levelled things up on the stroke of half-time when John Obi Mikel was on hand to cool slam home for 1-1 following a Willian corner in the 45th minute.

However, PSG retook the lead in the 78th minute when Edison Cavani came off the bench to fire home what turned out to be the winner from a superb through-ball from Angel Di Maria.

It means Chelsea will need to turn things around in the second leg but they’ll take a priceless away goal with them to Stamford Bridge in three weeks time.
