[Video Goals] Liverpool 3-0 Man City: Reds Exact Revenge On City

Liverpool took their revenge for Sunday’s Capital One Cup final defeat after thrashing Manchester City 3-0 at Anfield on Wednesday night.

The Reds started the brighter of the two teams and opened the scoring in the 34th minute when Adam Lallana drilled home a low shot past Joe Hart from 25-yards.

James Milner then doubled Liverpool’s lead just seven minutes later as the midfielder did well to poke home Roberto Firmino’s pass in the 41st minute for 2-0 at half-time.

City couldn’t muster any sort of response and the hosts sealed the win with a third in the 57th minute as Firmino cooly slotted home for 3-0 after being found by Lallana.

The win means Liverpool move up to eighth in the table and to within six points of the top four while City remain fourth and ten points adrift of leaders Leicester City.
