Michael Owen States His Prediction For West Brom vs Man Utd

Liverpool legend Michael Owen has offered his prediction for Manchester United’s trip to West Brom and believes the Red Devils will drop points this weekend.

United head to the Hawthorns on Sunday afternoon in rejuvenated form having won their last four games in all competitions including recent league wins over Arsenal and Watford.

Those victories have seen the Red Devils re-ignite their Champions League qualification hopes as they now sit level on points with fourth-placed Manchester City and Louis van Gaal will be hoping to put further pressure on their rivals with another win this weekend.

However, former Liverpool and United striker Michael Owen is predicting van Gaal’s men to slip up on Sunday with the pundit tipping West Brom to hold the Old Trafford club to a 1-1 draw.

Writing in his column for Colossus Bets, Owen is backing Tony Pulis’ side to build on their recent good form with another valuable point on soil against United.

I go for 1-1, and that is also the score line that I most favour in the West Brom v Man Utd game.

West Brom had won their previous two games before their 2-2 draw at Leicester on Tuesday, and they can take a point off a Man Utd side buoyed by their 3-2 defeat of Arsenal at the weekend, and a 1-0 victory over Watford on Wednesday night.

Utd are a much more effective side at home, though, and the draw looks the most likely outcome to me, especially with West Brom showing a bit more recently.

If Owen’s prediction proves accurate, it will be a blow to United’s top four hopes as you’d expect City to beat Aston Villa at the Etihad this weekend, while the Citizens also hold a game in hand over their rivals.
