Olivier Giroud was back among the goals as he scored twice to put us in control before Theo Walcott wrapped things up with a late brace to set-up a last 8 tie with Watford on Sunday.
Here are my ratings:
Ospina 6/10 | A very comfortable evening works from the Colombian international. Only called into action a couple of time, although his save from Meyler in the first half was vital.
Chambers 7/10 | Was beaten too easily a few times down the right but was far more comfortable when he moved in to the middle of defence.
Mertesacker 6/10 | Forced off in the first half with slight concussion after a nasty clash of heads.
Gabriel 7/10 | Was having a decent game until he too was forced off, this time with a suspected hamstring injury. Hopefully it’s nothing serious.
Gibbs 7/10 | Solid shift from Gibbs once again and he almost scored a beauty but saw his long-range strike come back off the bar.
Flamini 6/10 | Not the most influential player on the pitch but did a job. Looked better when he switched to right-back to be honest.
Elneny 6.5/10 | Another decent performance from the Egyptian. Moved the ball well in midfield and covered a lot of ground.
Walcott 7.5/10 | Very poor in the first half but came to life after the break as he set-up Giroud and scored two fine goals.
Iwobi 7.5/10 | A very lively performance from the young midfielder. Showed a good range of passing and put himself about too.
Campbell 7/10 | Capped off a solid display with a superb assist for Walcott’s first goal.
Giroud 8/10 | Back among the goals with a well taken brace. That should do his confidence the world of good.
Monreal 7/10 | Showed his versatility with a solid display at centre-back.
Ramsey N/A | Only lasted 10 minutes after picked up a thigh injury.
