Arsenal vs Watford Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Predicted Score

Arsenal take on Watford in an FA Cup quarter finals on Sunday. Here’s a preview with team news, likely line-ups, betting tips and predicted score for the game

Gabriel arsenal

Arsenal will be looking to book their place in the semi finals of the FA Cup when they take on Watford at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

We stretched our winning run in the FA Cup to 15 rounds with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Hull City in our fifth round replay on Tuesday night and we could equal our own record of 16 if we get past Watford.

Arsene Wenger is expected to resist the temptation to rest any of his key players ahead of the Barcelona game on Wednesday night as we have virtually no chance of turning around the tie following our 2-0 loss in the first leg at the Emirates last month.

With Leicester City also eight points clear at the top of the table, our Premier League title chances look slim at present so the FA Cup is once again our most realistic chance of silverware this season.

Team news

We were dealt a huge blow with the news that Aaron Ramsey has been ruled out for up to four weeks with a thigh injury that he suffered against Hull on Tuesday night.

Per Mertesacker also picked up a knock in that game having suffered a head injury in the first half but the German ace has been passed fit while Wenger expectes Gabriel to come through a late fitness test despite being forced off with a minor hamstring problem at the KC Stadium.

The boss will also make a late decision over Laurent Koscielny’s involvement as he only returned to full training today following a calf injury but I don’t think we’ll take any risks with the defender.

Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla, Tomas Rosicky, Petr Cech and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain remain sidelined but Mesut Ozil, Danny Welbeck, Alexis Sanchez and Hector Bellerin will return after being rested in midweek while Francis Coquelin is back from his one-game ban.

Watford will be without defender Miguel Britos for the game due to a hamstring injury while Joel Ekstrand is also missing with his own hamstring complaint.

Costel Pantilimon will continue in goal while Craig Cathcart and Jose Manuel Juardo will face late fitness tests on calf injuries.

Likely Line-Ups

Predicted Score

Arsenal 2-0 Watford: We were  far more clinical in front of goal against Hull on Tuesday so hopefully that’s a sign of things to come as we’ve been poor in the final third of late. Watford are a dangerous side on their day with Deeney and Ighalo up front but I think we’ll have far too much for them tomorrow.

Betting Tips

Arsenal are the 6/10 favourites to win the game but Football-Talk can get you enhanced odds of 4/1 on a home win – just click here to take advantage of these crazy odds. My prediction of 2-0 is on offer at 7/1 while I also like the look of Danny Welbeck to open the scoring at 7/2. If we combined those two bets in a score-cast then we get very tempting odds of 16/1.
