The Blues opened the scoring midway through the first half when youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek slotted home Cesar Azpilicueta’s 26th minute cross for 1-0.

The visitors took control of the game on the stroke of half-time as Alexandre Pato came off the bench for the injured Loic Remy to score on his debut as he made no mistake from the penalty spot to make it 2-0 in first half injury time.

The game was over as a contest just seconds after the restart as Pedro swept home following an excellent move involving substitute Oscar before the Spanish international completed the rout from a tight angle in the 59th minute.

The win sees Chelsea climb above Liverpool into ninth spot in the table and to within seven points of the top four.
