[Video Goals] West Ham 3-3 Arsenal: Carroll Hat-trick Ends Gunners’ Title Hopes

Andy Carroll scored a brilliant hat-trick to end Arsenal’s title hopes for another year as West Ham came from two-down to draw 3-3 in a thriller at Upton Park

Andy Carroll scored a brilliant hat-trick to end Arsenal’s title hopes for another year as West Ham came from two-down to draw 3-3 in a thriller at Upton Park this afternoon.

We started well and opened the scoring inside the opening 20 minutes as Alex Iwobi released Mesut Ozil and the playmaker took his time to slot home for 0-1 in the 18th minute.

It was 2-0 in the 35th minute with Iwobi the creator once again as he found Alexis Sanchez with a fine ball and the Chilean international made no mistake with a cool finish.

However, the Hammers got themselves back in the game as Andy Carroll powered home a header in the 44th minute and the striker then made it 2-2 with a deflected strike just three minutes later as the two sides went in all square at the break.

The stunning turnaround was complete just minutes in to the second half as Carroll scored his third of the game with another powerful far post header to make it 3-2 in the 52nd minute.

Laurent Koscielny then levelled things up with a close range finish to make it 3-3 with 20 minutes remaining, however, we couldn’t find the winner so had to settle for a point.

The draw leaves Arsenal sitting ten points adrift of leaders Leicester City with just six games remaining meaning our slim hopes of catching the Foxes are reaslisticlly over.
