New Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is keen to lure Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos to Stamford Bridge this summer as a potential replacement for Branislav Ivanovic, according to the Daily Star.
Conte was confirmed as the new Chelsea boss earlier this month with the former Juventus coach set to replace interim manager Guus Hiddink when he completes his duties with Italy at this summer’s European Championships.
It appears the 46-year-old is already planning for life at Stamford Bridge with the Daily Star citing reports coming from the Sun that claim Conte has already drawn up a list of key transfer targets and is eyeing a big-money move for Sergio Ramos.
The Spanish international came close to joining Manchester United last summer with the Red Devils offering up to £60m for his signature before Ramos opted to sign a new contract at Real Madrid.
However, it looks like the 30-year-old is going to be given another chance at coming to the Premier League with the Star suggesting that Conte has identified Ramos as a potential replacement for Branislav Ivanovic.
The Serbian international only signed a one-year contract extension in January but the newspaper states that he could now be heading to Italy with Roma keen on taking the 32-year-old to Serie A this summer.
Ramos would be an excellent addition if Chelsea could get a deal agreed as he’s been one of the best defenders in world football over the past decade having led both club and country to a whole host of top honours.

It remains to be seen if Madrid will be willing to part ways with the former Sevilla star but I’d love to see Ramos plying his trade here in England, so hopefully Chelsea will be able to come up with an offer too good to refuse.
