Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester United are set to battle-it-out over the signing of £15m-rated Braga attacker Rafa Silva this summer

The opening of the summer transfer window is fast approaching so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Liverpool and Manchester United are linked with Rafa Silva.

Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester United are set to battle-it-out over the signing of £15m-rated Braga attacker Rafa Silva this summer, according to the Daily Star.

Silva has developed in to one of the hottest prospects in Portuguese football since joining Braga from Feirense in the summer of 2013.

The 22-year-old has caught the eye of several top European clubs with some excellent displays this campaign with the youngster netting 9 goals and provided 8 assists so far.

That potential has attracted interest from the Premier League with the Daily Star claiming that Liverpool have now joined Manchester United in the race for his signature this summer with Braga supposedly willing to do business at £15m.

The newspaper says that United have sent scouts to check on Silva on several occasions this season with Jose Mourinho understood to be keen on signing the Portuguese attacker if he replaces Louis van Gaal as manager at the end of the season.

However, Liverpool are also gearing up for a busy summer with Jurgen Klopp ready to put his stamp on the squad and it appears the German coach has also set his sights on Silva with the future of Jordon Ibe uncertain.

Silva is predominantly played as a left winger for Braga but is also capable of playing anywhere across the three attacking positions behind the striker so he’d give United or Liverpool plenty of options if he joined either club this summer.
