Paul Merson Offers His Prediction Ahead Of Liverpool’s Clash With Everton

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has made his prediction ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Everton at Anfield on Wednesday night.

Liverpool have been on cloud nine since securing their place in the semi-finals of the Europa League with a sensational 4-3 comeback win over Borussia Dortmund last week.

The Reds currently sit eighth in the Premier League table and nine points adrift of the top four so Jurgen Klopp has understandably made Europe his priority and he made wholesale changes for Sunday’s win at Bournemouth.

However, the German coach is expected to revert back to his strongest line-up for tomorrow night’s Merseyside derby and Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson is tipping Liverpool to breeze past an Everton side that have one eye on their FA Cup semi-final with Manchester United.

Writing in his column for Sky Sports, he said:

Roberto Martinez will be hoping it snows and the game gets postponed. It’s a nightmare fixture for Everton with an FA Cup semi-final just around the corner. I have to back Liverpool here. It’s a huge game on Merseyside but with the Wembley date in mind, I see Jurgen Klopp’s side winning easily.

PAUL PREDICTS: 3-0

We’ll have to wait and see whether Merson’s prediction proves accurate but a win would at least keep alive Liverpool’s slim hopes of catching Arsenal and sneaking an unlikely top four place this season, while it would also hand the red half of Liverpool the bragging rights once again.
