Man Utd vs Leicester Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Predicted Score
Man Utd take on Leicester City at Old Trafford on Sunday. Here’s a preview with team news, likely line-ups, betting tips and predicted score for the game
Manchester United will look to close-in on the top four and prevent Leicester City from securing the Premier League title when they face-off at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with West Brom last Monday means the Foxes head in to the United game knowing victory will see them crowned arguably the most unlikely league champions in history.
Claudio Ranieri’s men hold a seven point lead with just three games remaining so it would take a monumental collapse over the closing weeks of the season to prevent Leicester from lifting the Premier League title this season.
However, United have plenty left to play for themselves as they try to force their way in to the top four in order to qualify for the Champions League next season and Louis van Gaal has warned Leicester they are ready to spoil their party.
United have no fresh injury concerns to worry about but Bastian Schweinsteiger is unlikely to play again this season due to a serious knee injury that he suffered while away on international duty last month.
Luke Shaw is progressing well in his recovery from a broken leg and while this game will come too soon, the full-back is hoping to get himself in contention to feature in the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace.
Leicester will once again be without top scorer Jamie Vardy as he serves the final of his two-game ban after he was slapped with an additional suspension for his reaction to his dismissal during the 2-2 draw with West Ham.
The only other absentee for the visitors is midfielder Matty James, who’s still sidelined with a knee injury.
Man Utd 2-1 Leicester: Despite their problems this season, United are still in with a chance of qualifying for the Champions League and are red-hot favourites to win the FA Cup, and van Gaal will be desperate to stop Leicester winning the title on their patch. The Foxes didn’t show any signs of nerves last week after thrashing Swansea but I have a sneaky feeling United are going to edge this one.
Man Utd are the 11/10 favourites but Football-Talk can get you enhanced odds of 6/1 on a home win – just click here to take advantage of these crazy odds. My prediction of 2-1 is available at odds of 17/2 while I also like the look of Anthony Martial to open the scoring at 7/1. If you combined those two bets in a score-cast then we get very tempting odds of 35/1.
