[Video Goals] Liverpool 3-0 Villarreal: Sturridge On Target As Reds Reach Final

Liverpool booked their placed in the Europa League final after beating Villarreal 3-0 at Anfield in their second leg tie on Thursday night.

The Reds needed to turn around a 1-0 deficit from the first leg and levelled things up on aggregate after Bruno bundled home into his own net under pressure from Daniel Sturridge in the 7th minute.

Liverpool then took control of the tie when Sturridge found space after being played in by Roberto Firmino in the 63rd minute and the striker made no mistake to cooly slot home for 2-0 on the night and 2-1 on aggregate.

An away goal would have been a killer blow to Liverpool but Villarreal’s hopes of getting back in the game were dealt a blow when Victor Ruiz was send off for a second bookable offence in the 71st minute.

The Merseysiders took full advantage and made it 3-0 ten minutes later when Adam Lallana turned home from close range to secure a 3-1 aggregate victory.

Liverpool will now play Sevilla in the final after they beat Shakhtar Donetsk in tonight’s other semi final.
