Agent Of Serie A Midfielder Speaks Out Amid Chelsea & Man Utd Interest
The agent of Slovakia midfielder Marek Hamsik has spoken out on the players future amid reported interest from Chelsea and Manchester United
The opening of the summer transfer window is fast approaching so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Chelsea and Manchester United are linked with Marek Hamsik….
The agent of Slovakia midfielder Marek Hamsik has spoken out on the players future amid reported interest from Chelsea and Manchester United and it doesn’t look like he’ll be leaving Napoli any time soon, according to talkSPORT.
Hamsik has been with the Serie A giants since joining the club from Brescia in 2007 and has developed in to one of the most dangerous attacking midfielders in Italy during his nine years at the club.
The 28-year-old has scored 98 goals and provided 93 assists in his 402 appearances so far and has taken his form on to the international stage having scored a stunning effort during Slovakia’s 2-1 win over Russia at Euro 2016 last week.
His impressive form has caught the attention of Premier League clubs with talkSPORT claiming that Chelsea and Manchester United have been showing a keen interest in luring him to England this summer.
Incoming Blues boss Antonio Conte is expected to be busy in the transfer market overhauling the squad he’s inherited after a disastrous campaign in West London and the Italian boss knows Hamsik extremely well from his time in Serie A.
New United boss Jose Mourinho has already kick-started his revamp at Old Trafford with the signing of defender Eric Bailly but the Portuguese coach is expected to strengthen his attack after watching the Red Devils only manage to score 49 league goals last season and Hamsik would certainly add a much-needed creative threat.
However, it looks as though the duo are going to face a tough time attempting to lure the Slovakian international away from the Stadio San Paolo as his agent, Juraj Venglos, has dismissed the idea of his client joining the likes of Chelsea or United this summer.
When quizzed about reported interest from the English giants, Venglos is quoted by talkSPORT as saying:
“Hamsik is already at a big club,”
“In the coming days I’ll meet [Napoli president Aurelio] De Laurentiis and [sporting director Cristiano] Giuntoli, but I can’t say any more at the moment.
“Since the talks haven’t happened yet, I can’t be any more precise.”
Hamsik has just two years remaining on his current deal so the talks with Napoli could be about an extension, which would all-but end Chelsea and United’s hopes of signing the midfielder this summer.
It would be a disappointment if they were to miss out as Hamsik would be a superb signing for either club and I’d personally love to see him plying his trade here in the Premier League at some point.
