Key Arsenal & Chelsea Target Drops Hint Over Future After Agent Holds Talks

A key Arsenal and Chelsea target has dropped a hint over his future after his agent held talks amid speculation he could be set for a move to England

The opening of the summer transfer window is fast approaching so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Alvero Morata drops a hint over his future…

Spanish striker Alvaro Morata has hinted he’s ready to snub interest from Arsenal and Chelsea to remain at Juventus this summer, according to the Daily Star.

Morata’s future has been a hot topic for discussion over the past few months after it emerged that Real Madrid are looking to activate a £23m buyback clause that they agreed when they sold him to Juve back in the summer of 2014.

The Daily Star claim that Morata’s agent held talks with Madrid chiefs on Friday to discuss their plans for the striker and it’s been widely thought that the Spanish giants were expected to sell the striker immediately to turn a quick profit.

Spanish outlet AS are reporting today that Morata could yet remain at the Bernabeu and fight-it-out with Karim Benzema for a starting spot in Zinedine Zidane’s team but the likelihood remains that Morata will be sold this summer once Madrid activate the buyback clause.

There has been no shortage of interest being shown in the Spanish international and the Daily Star suggest that Arsenal and Chelsea have already held talks with the 23-year-old’s camp about potential moves to London.

Arsene Wenger is on the look out for another striker after Danny Welbeck was ruled out for nine months and the Arsenal boss could be looking at Morata as a possible alternative to Jamie Vardy after his proposed move to the Emirates stalled.

Incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is expected to bring in another frontman to partner Diego Costa in his new-look system next season and the Italian tactician is a known fan of Morata’s as he was the manager who took him to Juventus two years ago.

However, it looks like the London duo may have their work cut out in trying to persuade Morata to leave Juventus as the striker has now hinted he would like to remain with the Italian champions.

Morata is quoted as saying by the Daily Star:

“I get many messages every day from Bianconeri fans and I’m really touched by this affection.

“Should I’ll stay in Turin? It’s not up to me, but if they want to ask me, I’d tell the truth. I feel really good at Juve.”

So it looks as though Morata is keen to remain in Turin and Juve would love to keep him but the good news for Arsenal and Chelsea is that they are unlikely to pay the fee Madrid are expected to demand for his signature, which could be above the £40m mark.

If the Serie A giants can’t agree a deal, then it would leave the door wide open for the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea to lure the striker to the Premier League and I think he’d be an excellent signing for either club.

However, any potential deal is going to have to wait as Morata is currently away on international duty with Spain at Euro 2016 and he scored twice during their 3-0 win over Turkey on Friday night.
