The opening of the summer transfer window is fast approaching so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Liverpool table another offer for Chilwell….

Liverpool may switch their attention to Hull City full-back Andy Robertson after seeing their latest £7m offer for Ben Chilwell rejected by Leicester City, according to the Telegraph.

Jurgen Klopp has already brought in three new faces this summer with Loris Karius, Marko Grujic and Joel Matip all completing moves to Anfield as the German coach looks to put his own stamp on the squad he inherited back in October of last season.

However, Klopp is still expected to bring in a number of further signings over the coming weeks and a new left-back to compete with Alberto Moreno is thought to be a priority as the Spaniard was widely criticised for his performances last season – particularly in the Europa League final defeat to Sevilla.

Chilwell has emerged as a key target for Liverpool in recent months but the Telegraph claim that Klopp is considering ending his pursuit and moving on to other targets after seeing an improved £7m offer knocked back by Leicester.

The 19-year-old came through the youth ranks at the King Power and broke in to the first team set-up last season but he has just one year remaining on his current contract and has so far refused to sign an extension.

You’d have thought £7m was a very generous offer for a teenager with just 12 months left on his contract but the newspaper suggests that Leicester are demanding £10m which has left negotiations at a stalemate.

Chilwell is understood to be keen to discuss a potential move with the Merseysiders but until a fee can be agreed the teenager is going to have to bide his time and see how things develop.

The situation means Klopp has no choice but to look at alternative targets and the Telegraph claim he is now considering launching a move for highly-rated Hull City full-back Andy Robertson.

The 22-year-old has more experience than Chilwell having already played a full season in the Premier League with the Tigers back in 2014/15 while he’s also got 10 caps for the senior Scotland team under his belt.

The likelihood is Robertson could be available for less than Leicester are demanding for Chilwell so you can see why Klopp could be tempted to make a move for the former Dundee United full-back this summer.

Klopp is understandably keen to get the majority of his business done before the start of pre-season but that’s not easy with the European Championships on this summer.
