£45m-Rated Striker Waiting For Arsenal Offer After Snubbing Tottenham

Arsenal are leading the chase along with Paris Saint-Germain for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette after snubbed interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur

The opening of the summer transfer window is almost upon us so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, more on the future of Alexandre Lacazette….

Arsenal are leading the chase along with Paris Saint-Germain for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette after he snubbed interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, according to talkSPORT.

Lacazette has been with Lyon his entire career having progressed through the youth set-up before breaking in to the first team in 2010 and he’s developed a reputation as one of the most lethal strikers in European football in recent years.

The 25-year-old’s 23 goals in all competitions last season took his personal tally to 75 over the past three campaigns and his impressive form has led to interest from a number of Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham.

talkSPORT claim that Spurs and the Hammers have already expressed their interest in bringing the striker to England this summer but they suggest that Lacazette has rejected their advances as he doesn’t believe they match his ambitions.

However, the French international could still be heading for the Premier League as talkSPORT go on to say that Arsenal and PSG are now leading the chase for Lacazette’s signature and the striker is now waiting for the duo to come forward with formal offers.

The news comes just days after the Mirror reported that Arsene Wenger was due to to hold talks with the strikers agent over in France this week to discuss a potential move to the Emirates this summer.

It’s not known whether those talks have now taken place or what the outcome was if they have but the Gunners boss is on the market for another striker to support Olivier Giroud next season and they’ve already failed to land Jamie Vardy after he opted to sign a new deal with Leicester City.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming weeks but if Wenger does decide to push ahead with a formal move he better be prepared to dig deep as the Mirror claim Lyon are demanding £45m for the striker this summer.

The Gunners boss has shown in recent windows with the signings of Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Granit Xhaka that he’s prepared to spend big money if he finds the right player but at £45m Lacazette would be a new record signing for Arsenal so I’m sure they’ll think long and hard before parting with that sort of money.

I have yet to hear one sensible link from Spurs to Lacazette – so how exactly could he have snubbed them?

The Goons may well make a play for him. And fair play to them if they are prepared to pay that type of fee (and accompanying wages, no doubt) on such a risky move – which is exactly why you won’t find any credible links to him from Spurs.

But why can you not just point to a link between him and the Goons without inventing a bogus snub to Spurs? Frankly, it’s silly.

P.S. I’ve yet to see any credible links from the Goons for him, either.

I thought wenger was on the ball this time with first early signing, but once again it looks like we will be left choosing from the leftover’s.
Football in my opinion, has been totally ruined by money and greedy selfish players. There was a time when players really did want to play for a club, now it is just for the riches they can get out of it, no loyalty anymore..RIP..Football

Can this mr arsene wenger delivered again this coming season. Cos in my opinion i don’t think this man will buy us another good player before transfer open and close. That Is what he did last season when he bought only goal keeper

Arsene Wenger is a mad man. We need a striker who can score 25 plus goals a season and he spends 30 million on a midfield player that we don’t really need at all. We are stacked full of midfielders to the point where sometimes they are being played out of position. for the last 6 or 7 transfer windows Wenger has played out the same old routine and he will do the same thing this transfer window its become tiresome and boring. When he stated that he built Arsenal football club I lost all respect for him, The day that he is gone from “MY” football club can’t come soon enough. He will spew out the same lame excuses as before and the results will be the same as it has been for the last 12 shameful years

Arsenal can have a monster striker Slimani (Sporting Lissabon) 25million pound, 32 goals last season in 44 games. (27 goals 34 games in la Liga). A striker who can outshine Giroud, Vardy and several players in the PL.
But the fans and the manager linked and hope selfish players they just want to play for City, Manu, Chelsea or Barca/Real.That’s the bitter reality.
