Arsenal & Liverpool Prepare To Do Battle After Spanish Forward Demands Move
Arsenal and Liverpool are ready to do-battle over the signing of a talented Spanish forward. Find out all the details of this potential transfer here.
The summer transfer window is in full swing so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal and Liverpool are linked with Jese Rodriguez…
Arsenal and Liverpool are preparing to do battle over the signing of Jese Rodriguez after the Spanish forward asked to leave Real Madrid in search of first team football this summer, according to a report in the Sun.
Rodriguez joined the Madrid youth system in 2007 and was tipped for great things when he broke in to the first team set-up in 2011 but the 23-year-old has struggled to force his way in to the starting eleven on a regular basis.
The Spanish youngster made just seven league starts last season and boss Zinedine Zidane is unable to guarantee Rodriguez a regular place in his side due to the abundance of attacking talent available and he’ll be pushed even further down the pecking order following the arrival of Alvaro Morata from Juventus.
It looks like the forward has now grown frustrated of his bit-part role at the Bernabeu as the Sun are citing reports coming from Spanish outlet Marca that claim Rodriguez has now asked to leave Madrid this summer in search of regular action.
The newspaper suggests that while Zidane would prefer to see Rodriguez leave on loan, the La Liga giants are willing to listen to offers for the player and there’s likely to be plenty of interest shown in the Spanish under-21 international.
And it looks like he could be offered a fresh start here in the Premier League as the Sun claim that Arsenal and Liverpool are ready to do-battle over Rodriguez’s signature this summer.
Jurgen Klopp has already been extremely active in the transfer market having brought in six new signings including Sadio Mane and Gini Wijnaldum so I’d personally be surprised if Liverpool were to splash out another big fee to sign Rodriguez.
However, Arsenal are in desperate need of reinforcements and Arsene Wenger could do worse than to look to the Madrid man as he’s capable of playing anywhere across the attacking positions so would give the Gunners boss plenty of options in the final third.
Rodriguez is a top talent who just needs a chance to fulfill his obvious potential so I’d love to see him come to England this summer, and a move to North London makes more sense than a switch to Merseyside if you ask me.
