My son and I met him after seeing him play for an Arsenal XI v AFC Wimbledon in August. The Arsenal team included Wellington Silva (looked very raw) and Kyle Bartley (looked the real deal).
Ryo reminded me of Overmars. He was quick and dribbled really well but he was up against a big burly left back in Blackwood. Ryo is T I N Y (quelle surprise) but looked very skillful. He was withdrawn early in the second half. Charming bloke, charming family, just very young and also very raw.
No way ready for the first team for at least season or two!

Has done well at school level in Japan and certainly a great prospect but how will he get a work permit? Not played for senior national team and far from the 75% of the last 2 years national team matches…..

Doesn’t surprise me that it’s an offensive signing and not a defensive signing. Just sayin!
